Most of the updates are there to just re-enable most of the data collection stuff that people have been turning off.

After installing the drivers and such I realized that image wasn’t any better then no drivers. Before installing the drivers it was working at x 65hz causing lots of flickering. After the driver installation I am stuck at x 30hz. I can’t set custom resolution, after clicking on Test It just gives error; “Test failed.

Custom resolution x at 60Hz bit is not supported by your monitor. But there is no test, screen doesn’t go black and wait for me to click on something. And Nvidia control panel doesn’t work. It can’t change the resolution, refresh rate of monitors, nothing.

When I try to change resolution to x what it actually does is; 4k x 2k , x , which means it’s still sending x signal but with lower pixel count. It doesn’t actually change the resolution. I can’t set my Samsung monitor hz, it just reverts back to 60hz before applying the setting. Nvidia control panel just doesn’t work. I’ve reinstalled drivers. Tried Starcraft II as the game. Can’t get it to run at 60hz.

As i had successfully used 4k 60Hz some time ago, i suspect some windows patch or version causes that. I understand that you are unable to set 4K at 60Hz resolution on external monitor. I would suggest you try updating the graphics driver and see if that helps. To do this refer the steps mentioned below to update display drivers:.

As in my initial post it is interesting that on older Lenovo laptop with Windows 10 Enterprise version which has graphics chip intel UHD which is older the the 4K 60 Hz works fine with same external monitor and same cable.
