As far as a scenario goes, I think just editing a photo on an iPad with an Apple Pencil is fantastic experience that should be tried. Though I don’t have Affinity or an iPad, from what I can tell, it looks as if Photos is the app that replaces Lightroom, and Affinity is he app that replaces Photoshop. Using them in conjunction on an iPad gives you a very portable solution in the field. Does the in-home cloud drive have a Files-compatible app? Then I would imagine so. Maybe I should have phrased it better. Is it doable, system wide? Does affinity support it? There’s no way to calibrate the iPad. There’s some system-level color management going on under the hood, but none of it is exposed to the user, and AFAIK isn’t something devs can touch.

So you can’t adjust the iPad’s display, but it and Affinity Photo can work with color profiles. The iPads are meant to work in very bright environments and the display is bright and high contrast because of this.

If image highlights are blown out, this seems to be a big limitation or editing. That is an iPad issue, not Affilinty software. Apple needs to support display calibration of the iPad Pros, at least. It works the way it does in macOS. Affinity uses it. You can select different monitor profiles, and file profiles for entry as well as in save and export.

You would need to go to the Mac after saving the file and convert them there as usual. Each iPad Pro screen is factory calibrated. Decent Dropbox integration? Ability to work between iOS and Windows? Mostly Non-destructive editing? For those trying it out, I would suggest looking at the Affinity website where they have many many video tutorials explaining how to use the various tools.
